International Champion S'Posan's Late Edition
November 30, 1998 - March 14, 2009
Edy was whelped in November of 1998, the first litter of our beloved Paige, and Edy lived with Jan.
Edy's story is unique. As a young bitch she excelled in the conformation ring. While earning her International Championship, Edy was Best In Show Bred By Exhibitor one day and Reserve Best in Show Bred By Exhibitor the other two days. She also had Sporting Group placements. The picture above was from the International Shows.
In May of 2001 Jan and Sandy were heading off to a show and while Jan was loading her car, and letting the dogs run in the yard so they were ready for the long ride, five dogs got out of Jan's yard and took off. Four of them came back, Edy did not. She was groomed and ready to compete for the two final majors she needed to finish her AKC Championship. Jan and Sandy canvassed the neighborhood, sent flyers and made many visits to local shelters, vets and grooming shops, but to no avail. There was never a sign of Edy.
In the late fall of 2002, almost 1 1/2 years after she disappeared, Edy came home. Jan heard something under her modular home in the middle of the night and crawled under with a flash light to discover a strange, shaggy, small black dog tangled up in the electrical wiring. She rescued the scared dog and put it in a crate until the next morning when she discovered that this poor bedraggled little dog was in fact our dearly beloved Edy.
After veterinary care to eliminate the parasites, grooming, good food, and much love, Edy spent the rest of her life as a happy and well loved pet. We will never know what she experienced during that 1 and 1/2 years but it certainly left its emotional mark, long after the physical marks were gone.
If life had not been interrupted for her, we believe she would have accomplished as many things as her mother, Paige, who had her American and International Championships, earned her CD in obedience, her Novice Standard (NA) and Novice Jumpers With Weaves (NAJ) and Open Standard Preferred (OAP) and Open Jumpers With Weaves Preferred (OJP) Agility titles.
Edy was bred once. She and Twix have four beautiful puppies. There are 3 black boys and one black and tan boy. Shown below are the black boys with their new families. The black and tan boy is now S'Posan's Justin Time and lives in Canada with Laurie Rivard.
